Online reviews now play a key role in shaping the reputation of accommodation providers and influencing travellers’ choices.
Law No. 34 of 11 March 2026 introduced a comprehensive regulatory framework on this matter for the first time, with the aim of ensuring greater transparency and protection for both consumers and businesses.
In the webinar “Online Reviews: Legality, Requirements and Rights of Reviewed Establishments”, Beatrice Nobili outlined the main changes brought about by the reform, as well as the protective measures now available to lodging establishments. These include the legality requirements for reviews, the prohibition on buying and selling reviews and interactions, and the right of operators to file complaints.
