We are pleased to announce that we are sponsors of the Jessup Competition 2024 – Italia Rounds, which will be held at the University of Naples Federico II from 7 to 11 February. This is the largest and most prestigious public international law competition in the world, with more than 700 universities from approximately 100 countries and jurisdictions participating each year.
The Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition consists of a simulated trial in which teams of students representing their respective universities compete in the study of a case that simulates a dispute between States before the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the judicial organ of the United Nations.
The competition is organized annually by the International Law Students Association (ILSA), a non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting the study of international law through a series of activities aimed at the educational and professional training of university students enrolled in law and related degree programs.
During the 2024 edition, a GPD-signed award will be presented to the best new team.
The teams that win the National Rounds will have the honor of representing their country at the International Rounds, which will be held in Washington DC from 30 March to 6 April.
This initiative is part of a series of projects that GPD carries out in support of emerging talent, based on the conviction that the success of a law firm depends on individuals determined to grow professionally within a dynamic team that pursues excellence.
