Following a lengthy process, the decree issued by the Minister for Public Administration concerning the methods for digitalization of public procurement contract procedures, as provided for in Article 44 of Legislative Decree 50/2016, is in the process of being published in the Official Gazette.

The decree, which transposes European directives, defines the requirements for telematic systems in public procurement and the methods for digitalization of procurement procedures and purchasing processes of public administrations, while also indicating the general technical characteristics of the systems that constitute their telematic support.

The technical rules, including those relating to data interoperability between telematic systems of the public administration, shall be prepared by the Agency for Digital Italy through appropriate guidelines.

The decree has obtained the concurrence of the Minister for Infrastructure and Sustainable Mobility and the Minister of Economy and Finance, as well as the favorable opinion of the Minister for Technological Innovation and Digital Transition, the Data Protection Authority, and the aforementioned Agency for Digital Italy.
